Rose M. Ris of Howland, Ohio entered peacefully into eternal rest on Saturday, May 14, 2016, at 4:30am, at the Hospice House in Poland, Ohio following a brief illness. She was 92. Rose was born the daughter of the late Joseph and Veronica (Uljon) Komlanc on October 26, 1923 in Girard, Ohio and was a life- long area resident. Rose was employed as an assembler with the Ohio Lamp Plant and was a member of the Queen of the Holy Rosary Church in Vienna, Ohio. She was known to her friends and family for her cooking and baking skills, she also enjoyed gardening in her spare-time.

On September 24, 1949, Rose was united into marriage with Francis “Frank” C. Ris and had shared 66 loving years together, until his passing November 4, 2015. Her memories will be remembered and cherished by those she leaves behind, her daughter, Cindy (Tom) Zanca of Ramsey, NJ and a brother, John “Duke” (Margie) Komlanc of McDonald, Ohio. Rose is preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Joseph Komlanc and her step-mother, Barbara Komlanc.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00am, Wednesday, May 18, 2016, at the Queen of the Holy Rosary Church, 291 Scoville Drive, Vienna, Ohio, where the family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the services at the church .Officiating will be Rev. Denis G. Bouchard. Interment will follow in Niles City Cemetery.

            Memorial contributions may take the form of Tributes to the Shepherd’s Foundation, 5525 Silica Road, Youngstown, Ohio 44515 or to the Hospice House, c/o Hospice of the Valley, 5190 Market Street, Youngstown, Ohio 44512.
