Richard A. Vanaugh  Jr. of Nashville, TN, formerly of Youngstown, Ohio entered peacefully into rest on Tuesday, May 31, 2016, at 11:40pm, at the Hospice House in Poland, Ohio following a brief illness. He was 61. Rick was born the son of Richard A. Vanaugh Sr. and Caroline (Artz) Charles on August 3, 1954 in Youngstown, Ohio and was a graduate of  Chaney high school class of  1972. He was a musician and of the Christian faith.

            Rick was an extraordinarily gifted drummer who contributed to the legacy of country music for 42 years in Nashville, Tennessee, playing with many great legends. Known for his infectious smile, his kind heart and his willingness to help everyone, he will be fondly remembered, loved and missed by all his family in Ohio and the Nashville community.

            Rick  leaves behind, his mother, Caroline Charles of Liberty, Ohio, sister, Lynn Watson of Youngstown,  brothers, Randy Vanaugh (Valerie) of Warren, Ohio, David Charles (Julie) and Tim Charles both of Liberty, Ohio.  He is preceded in death by his father and sister, Leslie Galvan Hapsic.

            Private family services will be held. Burial will be Belmont Park Cemetery.
