Thomas E. Cope, 71, of Niles, passed away suddenly on Thursday, November 4, 2021, at his home after suffering cardiac arrest.
Tom was born February 18, 1950, in Warren the son of the late Clarence Embra and Kathryn Elizabeth Smith Cope and was a lifelong area resident.
A 1968 graduate of Warren G. Harding High School, Tom furthered his education with a bachelor’s degree in history from Youngstown State University.
Tom would retire from Delphi in Warren.
In the 1980’s, Tom coached basketball for Niles Schools. He was an avid harness horse owner and racer. Tom enjoyed dogs and always rooted for the Akron Rubber Ducks and Buffalo Bills.
He will always be remembered by his children Heidi (Andrew) Cope-Barker of Niles, Todd (Amber) Cope of Lamar, Colorado, and Mark (Michelle) Franko of Cortland; and his grandchildren Justin, McKenna, and Olivia Barker, Madi Cope, and Amanda and Justin Franko.
Besides his parents, Tom was preceded in death by a brother Gerald Cope.
In keeping with his wishes, there will be no calling hours or funeral service.
