Suzanne K. Mikos, 71, of McDonald, entered peacefully into eternal life with her loving family at her side on Thursday, June 4, 2020 at 8:51 a.m. in the comfort of her home.
Suzanne was born on Wednesday, October 20, 1948 in Youngstown the daughter of the late John Kovalick and Anne Knezich Kovalick Ward and was a lifelong area resident.
She received an associate degree in business from Youngstown State University and worked in the clerical field the majority of her working career. She worked for Alby Homes, was a legal secretary for Atty. John Hanni; was office manager for Dr. Tochtenhagen in Girard and was a Workers Compensation Specialist. More recently, she spent the last 25 years as a Realtor with Petrosky Real Estate in Girard with her long time friend Joanie Petrosky. Her most important job of all to her was supporting her husband throughout his musical career; Bruno Mikos and the Harmony Stars. In the mid to late ‘70’s, she was also the Co-Host with her husband on Warren WHHH Radio Show “Weekend Polka Parties” which aired on Saturday and Sunday over the years.
Suzanne was a member of Women’s Junior League and enjoyed baking and the challenges of Crossword Puzzles in which she completed in ink because she was sure she was always right.
She was a member of St. Rose Catholic Church in Girard.
A loving, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, Suzanne will be deeply missed by her husband of 53 years Bruno E. Mikos whom she married on November 17, 1966 in Munroe, Michigan; three children Deborah (David) Noll of Niles, Cathee (Richard) Mulcahy of Brunswick and John D. Mikos Sr. of Canfield; a sister Denise (Mark Dikun) Piper-Snowholly of East Cleveland Heights; and four grandchildren Benjamin and Emily Wagner and John “Johnnie” Mikos Jr. and Brandon Mikos. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Pat Mikos of Calumet Park, Illinois; a nephew James (Carmella) Fuscaldo of Tinley Park, Illinois and by two great nephew and great nieces Michael and Madeline Fuscaldo and by a host of friends whom she and her husband met through the orchestra over the years.
Besides her parents, and step father, Ed Ward, Suzanne was preceded in death by her grandparents Joe and Theresa Knezich; aunt Betty Lucas and her sister-in-law Marie Fuscaldo.
Family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 9, 2020 from 9:00 a.m. until 9:50 a.m. in St. Rose Catholic Church, 48 E. Main St., Girard, Ohio 44420.
As a sign of condolence, the family suggests that any wanting can offer a Mass in Suzanne’s name at either St. Rose Catholic Church or a church of the donor’s choosing.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday in the church with Rev. Msgr. John A. Zuraw as celebrant. Burial will take place in Resurrection Cemetery in Austintown.
