Susan M. Winkleman, 81, of Cortland and formerly of Warren, entered peacefully into eternal life on Saturday, January 15, 2022 at 6:45 p.m. in her home under the comforting care of Hospice.
She was born in Akron, Ohio on August 14, 1940 the daughter of the late George and Marian Gibson Senter and was a lifelong area resident.
A homemaker, Susan immensely enjoyed her family and was their biggest supporter in all they did and accomplished through life. She was an avid reader, enjoyed going to garage sales with her late husband, John. She found relaxation in doing puzzles and she had a heart for rescuing her canine companions from the various animal shelters. Susan was also a foster parent for many years with Trumbull County Children Services Board.
She was a longtime member of the Warren Revival Center in Leavittsburg.
She was married on May 9, 1978 to John A. Winkleman and they were married for 42 years until his passing on January 13, 2021.
Susan is survived by her children Julie Hionas with whom she made her home in Cortland, James (Cheryl) Wilkinson of Albuquerque, NM, Laurie (James) Perry of Cortland, Edward (Murat Orozobekov) Winkleman of New York, Raymond Winkleman of Warren, D.J. Winkleman of Warren, Lori (Daniel) Diaz of North Carolina; nineteen grandchildren and many great grandchildren.
Besides her parents, and husband John, Susan is preceded in death by a sister Judy and a brother James.
Family will receive friends on Friday, January 21, 2022 from 10:00 a.m. until 10:50 a.m. at Warren Rival Center 4400 W. Market St., Leavittsburg, Ohio 44430.
A Funeral Service will take place on Friday, January 21, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at the church with Pastor David Holbrook officiating.
Burial will follow in Pine Knoll Cemetery, Warren Township.
