Ruthann Bloom

CORTLAND – Ruthann Bloom, 74, entered into eternal rest Monday, October 30, 2023 in the emergency room of St. Joseph Heath Center in Warren.  She was born November 23, 1948 in Youngstown, the daughter of John and Mary (Schuller) Roth.

A graduate of Fitch High School, Ruthann enjoyed gardening, reading, art, and music. She loved family time and cherished her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is sadly missed by her beloved husband of over fifty-one years, Leo J. Bloom, whom she married April 28, 1972; three children: Scott Bloom (Cynthia) of Troy, Johanna Lyon (Paul) of Beach City, and Randi Palette (Robert) of Cortland; seven grandchildren: Emilee Palette, Haley Bloom, Abigail Lyon, Rachel Bloom, Nicole Spithaler (Jacob), Jacob Lyon, and Elyse Bloom; and two great-grandchildren, Lane Spithaler and Kaylee Felicetty.

Preceding her in death are her parents; three sisters: Dorothy Fizet, Margaret Strickland, and Elyse Neely; and two brothers, Robert and Thomas Roth.

A Celebration of Life service will be held from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm Saturday, November 4 at the Bazetta Township Administration Building, 3372 State Route 5, Cortland, Ohio 44410.  Please join the family in celebrating Ruthann’s remarkable life.
