BOARDMAN – Ruth M. Dillon, age 89, entered into eternal rest Saturday, September 12, 2020 at St. Elizabeth Health Center in Youngstown. She was born January 8, 1931 in Richwood, W. VA., the daughter of Wyatt and Lorena (Hall) Drake, moving to Ohio when she was ten years old.
Ruth was a strong woman with a big heart, always ready to help anyone in need. A devoted and gifted homemaker, Ruth used to make her own curtains and all the outfits for her children. She enjoyed going to church, and also enjoyed crafts, puzzles, Bingo, and casinos.
Precious memories of Ruth live on with her eight children: Geneva Beshara (Michael) of Youngstown, Ezra Dillon (Staci) of Columbiana, David Dillon (Ethel) of Niles, Frank Dillon (Vicki) of Petersburg, Darlene Pavek (Ales) of Poland, John Dillon (Darlene) of North Jackson, Loretta Dillon of Columbus, and Dianna Darr (Roy) of Youngstown; fifteen grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Dorothy Drake of Youngstown.
Preceding her in death are her parents, Wyatt and Lorena Drake; one grandson, Ryan Bailey; one sister, Helen Drake; and two brothers, William and James Drake.
Ruth’s life will be celebrated with a gathering from 3:00 to 5:00 pm Sunday, September 20, 2020 at Venture Church, 7872 Glenwood Avenue, Boardman. Masks are required if you attend.
