Rosalyn Given Obituary

Rosalyn Mae Given,86. With saddened hearts, we said goodbye to our beloved Rosalyn on Sunday, January 16, 2022, as she went with her lord and savior. She died at the Cleveland clinic with complications of an extended illness. She died the same way she lived with a quiet grace and steadfast faith.

Rosalyn was born February 10, 1935, to her proud parents; Emery and Edna Sackett of Leavittsburg. She was a 1953 graduate of Leavittsburg High School.

She met and married the love of her life, her devoted husband; Paul S. Given on June of 1953. They shared 69 blessed years together raising their family in Newton Falls. They have two sons; Paul E. Given of Salem, OH and Tim Givens of Warren OH,  (wife Mary Kay), seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren

Rosalyn was a loving devoted wife and mother.  Her greatest joy was preparing a delicious meal for her family and sharing time together. She enjoyed gardening, canning, and tending to her flower gardens. She enjoyed playing her piano and oil painting.  She enjoyed going to craft shows, especially fond of handmade items by craft masters, The family spent many happy years vacationing in Canada and visiting the ocean. She loved and enjoyed her nieces and nephews.

Rosalyn was a devoted Christian and very active in her church of more than 50 years, Braceville Christian Church.  She served as a deaconess for many years, taught Sunday School, helped with VBS (she loved the children), and helped prepare and serve the funeral dinners.  She was kind and forgiving to all, never judging and she always placed others before herself.

In later years, Rosalyn earned her college degree from Kent State.  She worked for the Ravenna Arsenal and in banking with Trumbull Savings.

Preceding her in death are her parents, a sister Reita Sackett Macaluso, a brother Robert Sackett.

Precious memories of Rosalyn will live on in our hearts with her loving husband Paul, her sons, Paul Emery and Tim and their families, her sister and best friend Marcia Sackett Jenkins, and her family.  She will be sadly missed by all.  We all loved her dearly.

Family will receive friends on Thursday, January 20, 2022 from 11:00 a.m. to 11:50 a.m. at Braceville Christian Church, 4387 Church St. SW, Newton Falls, Ohio 44444.

A Funeral Service will take place on Thursday, January 20, 2022 at 12 Noon in the church with Pastor Jon Pratt as celebrant.
