Robert (Bob) A. Grayer Sr., 72, of Warren, Ohio departed this life on Thursday, December 24, 2020 at St. Joseph Hospital.
He was born on June 16,1948 in Braceville, Ohio, the son of Alva V. and Mary Davis Grayer.
Bob attended Newton Falls High School excelling at basketball. Following graduation, he served honorably in the United States Army and was stationed in Germany from 1968-1970. Bob graduated from Kent State University at Trumbull with an associate degree in accounting. Throughout his career, Bob was employed by several companies including North American Rockwell. For the last decade, he was employed by XPO Logistics.
Bob was an active member of the Church at Warren where he faithfully served in several ministries, including the music and video ministries and intercessory prayer. He enjoyed reading his Bible, praising and worshipping God and sharing the love of Jesus Christ with others.
On September 4, 1987, Bob married the love of his life Ruth (Triplett). From Hawaii to Israel and from Mexico to Alaska, they spent much of their 33 years of marriage traveling and exploring the world. A man of many talents and interests, Bob enjoyed taking on new adventures. When he wasn’t traveling, Bob loved cheering for the Ohio State Buckeyes and Cleveland Browns.
In addition to his wife he is survived by three sons, Robert (Gail) Grayer Jr. of Niles, Ohio, Quality and Micah Staples, both of Warren, Ohio; three daughters Ms. Sheria Nicole Grayer, Mrs. Devonne (Grover) Diggs, both of Warren, Ohio, and adopted daughter Brooke Grayer of South Carolina. He also leaves to cherish his memory, 8 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, a special niece, Joyette Smays, and a host of in-laws, nieces, nephews and cousins who loved him very much.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Arnold L. Grayer Sr., and one sister, Mrs. Zonnie Mae Henderson.
The funeral service will take place on Friday, January 8, 2021 at Staton- Borowski Funeral Home (962 North Road, NE, Warren Ohio). Calling hours at 10:00 am, one hour prior to the 11:00 am service.
