Rita Jean Dorsey

WARREN – Rita Jean Dorsey, 78, departed this life peacefully on November 4, 2023, at her residence surrounded by family. She was born on January 17, 1945, in Rutledge, Alabama, to the union of Verdie Dorsey and Nellie Pearl Lawhorne Dorsey.

Rita worked as a home aide, she loved bingo, cards and working in her yard, as well as spending time with her family and friends.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her four daughters, Jeannette Dukes of Columbus, OH, Marilyn Kelson of Warner, Robins GA, Michelle Mayes of Roberta, GA and Andrea Dorsey of Columbus, OH: eleven grandchildren, forty-three great grandchildren, one great-great grandson: two special friends, Mary George and Ray Elder, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Rita will be greeted at the gates of heaven by her parents, three sisters, nine brothers and a grandson.

Calling hours will be held Friday, November 10, 2023, from 11am to 12pm at Staton Borowski Funeral Home, 962 North Rd. NE, Warren, Ohio. A service will be held following calling hours. She will be laid to rest at Oakwood Cemetery.
