Mildred "Millie" R. Tancos

NILES – Mildred “Millie” R. Tancos, age 87, formerly of Cortland, passed away peacefully Sunday, February 7, 2021 at Continuing Health Care in Niles.  She was born May 25, 1933 in Ganister, Pa., the daughter of Stephen and Ann (Thomas) Rabits.

Millie was a graduate of Williamsburg (Pa.) High School, Class of 1951 and was a devoted homemaker. She was a longtime member of St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church. For over twenty years, she served as a Eucharistic minister, visiting in homes and at Hillside Hospital.  Her favorite pastime was spending quality time with her family.

She is sadly missed by her son, Mark S. Lynn of Newbury; two grandsons, Nicholas and Michael Lynn; one granddaughter, Nicole Stiver; three great-granddaughters: Riley, Reese, and Rostom Stiver; and many nieces, nephews, and their families.

Preceding her in death are her parents, Stephen and Ann Rabits; her loving husband of twenty-four years, John E Tancos, whom she married  May 22, 1981 and who passed August 17, 2005; her son, Ronald S. Lynn; two sisters, Helen Kinkella and Mary Jane (Wagstaff) Smith; and five brothers: Peter, John, Michael, Nicholas, and Frank Rabits.

Services are pending.  Cremation is taking place.  Her urn will be laid to rest on April 2, 2021 at Meadow Brook Memorial Park.
