Michael J Hudzik

Michael J. Hudzik Jr., 81, of Niles, passed away Friday, November 12, 2021 at 2:55 p.m. in his home under the comforting care of hospice surrounded by his family.

He was born May 4, 1940 in Youngstown, the son of the late Michael J. Sr. and Betty L. Gilmore Hudzik and was a lifelong area resident.

Mike graduated from Mineral Ridge High School in 1958.  He then attended The Ohio State University on a baseball scholarship and later Youngstown State University.

He married Mary C. Martin on May 13, 1961 and they enjoyed 60 years of marriage together.

Mike worked at Allied Metals in Niles and retired from Starr Fab in Vienna as a project estimator.  Mike enjoyed his family first and foremost, coaching numerous little league teams, officiating high school basketball, watching the Ohio sports teams, but especially enjoyed being involved in the lives of his children and grandchildren.

Michael will be deeply missed by his wife Mary, three children Michelle (Chris) Charnas of Howland Township, Michael S. (Lori) Hudzik of Niles, and Martin C. (Stephanie) Hudzik of Austintown; by a brother John Charles Hudzik of Mineral Ridge; by seven grandchildren Ashley (Rick) Hudzik, Nicholas (Victoria) Charnas, Haven Barricella, Aris (Courtney) Charnas, Michael Charnas, Geno Barricella and Samantha Hudzik; and by five great grandchildren Jolynn Hall, Cora Hall Aria, Waylon, and Hudson Charnas.

Besides his parents, Mike was preceded in death by three brothers Robert, Donald, and Allan Hudzik.

As per Mike’s wishes a Celebration of Life for family members will be held.  There will be no public services.
