Mary Lou Hribar Obituary

Mary Lou Hribar, 82, of Howland Township, entered peacefully into eternal life with her loving children by her side on Tuesday, October 20, 2020 at 9:29 a.m. in the intensive care unit at Mercy Health St. Joseph Warren Hospital following a period of declining health.  She was under the comforting care of hospice.

Mary Lou was born Tuesday, November 30, 1937 in Niles.  She was the daughter of the late James and Josephine Granata formerly Anerino and was a lifelong area resident, graduating from Niles McKinley High School in 1955.

She was a homemaker and held various jobs in her younger years at Second National Bank, Montgomery Ward and K-Mart.

Mary Lou was of the Catholic faith and was currently an active member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Warren and a former member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Niles.  She was very involved in her church and volunteered in her time and talent on various committees.  She was a Eucharistic Minister at the church and also to the nursing home and homebound of the church and served on the bereavement committee and was a sacristan.  Mary Lou was also a strong supporter and member of SNPJ Lodge 643 in Girard.

She was married on June 22, 1963 to Stanley R. Hribar and they were happily married for 45 years until his passing on June 14, 2009.  Together they shared the love of two children Robert (Yuchong) Hribar of Fairfax Station, VA and Susan (Patrick) Brindley of Howland Township; and three grandchildren Christina (fiancé Bryant Lesnoski) Brindley, Sarah Brindley and Grant Hribar.  Mary Lou also leaves behind to mourn three sisters, Trudy Kijowski of St. Charles, MO, Rosalee Beal of Hermitage, PA, Dianne Dahmen of Colorado Springs, CO. and one brother, Peter Granata of Arizona

Besides her parents and husband, Mary Lou is preceded in death by a brother James Granata.

Family will receive friends on Sunday, October 25, 2020 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. in the funeral home.

A Mass of Christian Burial, with Fr. John Trimbur officiating, will be offered at 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 26, 2020 in Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 3020 Reeves Road NE, Warren, Ohio 44483, preceded by closing prayers to be recited at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home prior in leaving for the church.

Burial will take place at a later date in Niles City Cemetery.

Those attending the visitation and Funeral Mass are required to respect the six-foot rule of social distancing mandated by the State of Ohio and the wearing of a facial mask or covering is required and will be enforced.
