Mary L. Burr

Mary L. Burr, 88, of Niles, passed away peacefully Friday, July 27, 2018 at Trumbull Memorial Hospital in Warren.  She was born May 11, 1930 in Warren, the daughter of Olney and Nellie (Hill) Young, and had lived in the area all her life.

A member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Warren, Mary retired from Warren City Schools after 30 years as the head cook.  She enjoyed cooking and the many activities at the independent living center, Shepherd of the Valley, such as bingo, cards, and traveling.

She is sadly missed by her son, Russell Burr of Niles; her daughter, Marlene (Richard) Morales of Warren; three grandchildren: Christina (Ryan), Stephanie (Mike), and Brandy; six great-grandchildren: Kathleen, Ryan, Alexandria, Benjamin, Anthony, and Stella; and a sister, Shirley Zody of Worthington, Ohio.

Preceding her in death are her parents; her loving husband, Melvin Burr, whom she married July 8, 1950 and who died August 1, 2000; a sister and a brother.

Cremation is taking place.  Per her request, services are private.
