Martha W. Koehler, 85, was called home to the Lord, to be reunited with her husband Jim, who was called home this past Thursday, on Tuesday, November 16, 2021, at 4:54 p.m. in the comfort of her own home.
She was born August 28, 1936, in Hundred, West Virginia the daughter of the late Theodore and Mabel Hix Church.
Martha was a graduate of 1954 Champion High School. She previously worked for Packard Electric and retired from Mercury Plastics in 2003 as a press operator.
Along with her husband, Martha was a member of Shekinah Church in Bristolville. She loved playing board games and playing cards. She had an enthusiasm for going to craft shows and enjoyed baking chocolate chip cookies. Above all else, nothing brought Martha more joy in life than being with her family especially all of her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She had a passion for the love of Christ in each and everyone of them and would pray for them all by name and entrusted them all to the love, safety, and prayers of God.
Martha was united in marriage on September 8, 1956, to the Rev. Dr. James L. Koehler Sr. and they had just recently celebrated 65 years of marriage. To this union was seven children Rev. James. L. (Elizabeth) Koehler Jr. of Warren, Robert E. Koehler of Bristol, Douglas E. (Janet) Koehler Sr. of Bristol, Diana L. (Timothy) Heinz of Austintown, Robin L. (Michael) Taylor of North Jackson, Amy C. Carter of Champion, and Mary M. (TJ) Smith of Burghill. He is also survived by twenty-three grandchildren, twenty-seven great grandchildren. She is also survived by a brother Gail Frederick (Hermina Joy) Church of Champion.
Besides her parents, Martha was preceded in death her husband, Rev. Dr. James L. Koehler, Sr. on November 11, 2021; by two sons-in-law Keith Carter and Randall Friend; and by a brother William Church.
Family will receive friends TODAY, Thursday, November 18, 2021 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. in the Staton-Borowski Funeral Home.
A Combined Funeral Service with her husband, Rev. Dr. James L. Koehler Sr., will take place on Friday, November 19, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home with their son Rev. James L. Koehler Jr. as celebrant.
Burial will follow side by side in Sager Memorial Park in Bristol.
