WARREN – Marilyn L. Maxwell, age 84, passed away peacefully Thursday, November 12, 2020 at Trumbull Memorial Hospital. She was born October 11, 1936 in Yonkers, N.Y., the daughter of Richard, Sr. and Louise (Light) Way, and had lived in Ohio since 1993.
Marilyn earned an associate’s degree in art from Westchester Community College. A devoted homemaker, she had also worked as a secretary for the American Bible Society. An active member of Christ Episcopal Church, she enjoyed cooking, gardening, crafts, and going to shows and to the beach. She had been a 4-H leader in Ohio, and most of all, enjoyed taking care of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Precious memories of Marilyn live on with her beloved husband of nearly sixty-five years, Bruce H. Maxwell, whom she married January 1, 1956; two children, Marilyn “Max” Sweeny (Paul) of Howland and Mark Maxwell (Tricia) of Warren; five grandchildren: Kai Gagnon, Lisa Floyd (Jason), Larkin Sweeny (Lisa), Kristina Johnson (Alex), and Joshua Maxwell; six great-grandchildren: Michael Hillman (Analee), Scott Hillman, U.S.M.C., Trevor Gagnon, Cameron Hillman, Taylor Hillman, and Spencer Gagnon; one brother Richard Way (Maureen) of Fishkill, N.Y.; two sister-in-laws: Donna Maxwell of Leonia, NJ, and Linda Maxwell of Palm
Coast, FL; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death are her parents, Richard, Sr. and Louise Way; two sisters, Joan Way and Alice (Jack) Martarano; and one brother, David Way.
Services are 11 am on Tuesday, November 17, 2020 at Staton-Borowski Funeral Home, with Rev. Jeffrey Baker officiating. Interment will follow at Howland Township Cemetery. Friends may call 10:00 to 11:00 am Tuesday at the funeral home.
