Maria Hatzialexiou

WARREN – Maria Hatzialexiou ,88, passed away on Sunday, July 4, 2021 at St. Joseph Hospital in Warren surrounded by her family.

Maria was born on September 7, 1932 in Naxos, Greece. She has resided in the United States for the past six years and many years prior to her last trip to her homeland in 2015.

Maria lived daily truly committed and devoted to her faith and family. Her kind and gently soul was a true depiction of what an angel on earth represented. She took pride in her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and nothing meant more to her than her family. She devoted her whole life to being a grandmother and encouraged her grandchildren and great-grandchildren to live life though God and always expressed her love for other frequently S’agapo.

She loved to sing lullabies and songs to her grandchildren and cook for her family. She was happiest when surrounded by those she loved. Anyone who had the pleasure of meeting her immediately felt genuine and pure love and kindness.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Ilias Hatzialexiou, a son; Lygeros “Lee” Hatzialexiou a sister; Vaso and two brothers Manoli and Vasilis.

Maria will be sadly missed by her children; Alexandra (John) Vlahos of Warren, Dorthy (Tasos) Vlahos of Toronto, Canada, Eva (Stathes) Antonaklas of Parma, OH, Steve (Lori) Hatzialexiou of Warren; 13 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 8, 2021 at 11am at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church 429 High Street Warren OH 44484. Friends may call hour prior the time of the service at the Church. Donations to: St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church or PhiloptoChos Society of Warren

Interment will be at Pineview Memorial Park in Warren, OH.
