Marguerite (Marg) A. Szakacs, 82 of Howland, entered peacefully into eternal life on Wednesday, April 20, 2022. She was born February 19, 1940 in Warren to the late Mary and Michael Yanitor. A 1957 graduate of Warren Harding High School, Marg retired from Howland local schools in 2003 where she worked as a librarian. Marg enjoyed being a grandmother and a great grandmother. Besides this, she enjoyed polkas, dancing, reading, knitting and crocheting. She knitted/crocheted for Howland SCOPE where the items she made were donated to local schools, cancer centers and nursing homes. Lately, she had also been crocheting with a group of ladies from the Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton where she made blankets for infants being baptized. Another joy for her was her longtime friendship with members of “her cookie club”. Her husband, Daniel J. Szakacs whom she married on 12/31/1957 preceded her in death. She leaves behind son Michael(Wendy) Szakacs of Liberty; her daughter Deborah(Mark) Nichols of Vienna; Four grandchildren Jared (Laura) Nichols, David Szakacs, Jessie (Jared) Daly and Chelsea Nichols. She Also leaves behind 3 great granddaughters Hayden, Avington and Ellowyn. Besides her parents and husband (Dan), she was preceded in death by an infant son, who passed at birth. A funeral service will be held at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton- St. James Church at 11 a.m on April 26th. Friends may call one hour prior to the time of the service.
