Lynda Gail (Cope) Welke

Lynda Gail Welke, 76, of Warren, passed away Sunday, May 2, 2021 at 6:01 a.m. in Community Skilled Health Care Centre.

She was born Tuesday, August 1, 1944 in Warren the daughter of the late Raymond and Dorothy Fortney Cope and was a lifelong area resident.

A 1962 graduate of United High School, Lynda attended Hannah G. Mullins School of Practical Nursing graduating in 1964.

Lynda was united in marriage in Winona, Ohio on June 19, 1965 to Michael Ted Welke and they were married for 44 years until his passing on April 16, 2009.

She was employed for 22 years with the City of Warren where she worked as a consumer service representative retiring on September 30, 2005.

Lynda was a member of the Red Hatters and the Groupies for the band Full House.  She was also a member of the TNT Playhouse and enjoyed bird watching and going to the wineries with her lunch bunch friends.

She is survived by two children Michael Timothy (Kelly) Welke of Warren and Christine “Tina” Welke-Pflager of Warren and two brothers Albert (Barbara) Cope of Ravenna and Dennis Cope of Andover, MA;  Lynda is also survived by her grandchildren Marissa Nikole (fiance Joshua Robbins) Welke, Samantha Kay Arthur, Kaitlyn Jane Welke, Theodore (Rosangalie) Welke, Dylan Christopher Pflager, and Lexie Nicole Pflager; and by three great grandchildren Theodore Angel Welke, Kalvin DeShawn Baugh and Mavrick Michael Robbins.

Besides her parents and husband, Lynda was preceded in death by her daughter Sheila Irene Welke-Feliz.

Family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 5, 2021 from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. in the Staton-Borowski Funeral Home.

A Funeral Service will take place on Wednesday, May 5, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home with Pastor John O’Hara as celebrant.

Burial will follow in Crown Hill Burial Park in Vienna.
