LaTarsha Denise Golden, 51, of Warren, entered peacefully into eternal life on Thursday, September 30, 2021 following complications from COVID-19.
She was born February 14, 1970 in Quitman, Georgia the daughter of Richard Phillips Sr. and Almarie Golden, moving from Atlanta to Ohio 25 years ago.
A graduate of D.M. Therrell High School in Atlanta, LaTarsha graduated from Trumbull Business College with a degree in business education and tested and received a business certificate and a teacher assistant license in the State of Ohio.
For the last 25 years, LaTarsha was employed with the Warren City Schools as a Paraprofessional (teacher assistant) most recently and up until her passing at Fairhaven School.
She was a member of the International Union of Educators and was past president. LaTarsha enjoyed sewing, tutoring, adult coloring, and solving cross word puzzles and word searches. She was a collector of snow globes and music boxes.
Faith and the Lord were a big part of LaTarsha’s life, and she was an active member of Greater Apostolic Faith Church in Warren.
She is survived by her mother, Almarie Golden of Quitman, Ga; her stepmother Mrs. Pearlie Phillips of Warren; son Ricardo (Victoria) Golden with whom she made her home in Warren; and her grandchildren who were the light of her life Ethan, and Riley Golden, Bryson Gilmore, and Xavier Golden. LaTarsha is also survived by two sisters Amelia Golden of Warren and LaTonya Butler of Savannah, GA; brothers Lorenzo Phillips of Jacksonville, Nikkie Reddick of Tallahassee, Reginald Fields of Lake Park, GA, Richard Phillips Jr. of Warren, Fernando Phillips of Warren, and Michael Phillips of Warren; by numerous nieces and nephews, extended family, and by a host of friends.
LaTarsha was preceded in death by her father. Richard Phillips, Sr.
Family will receive friends on Friday, October 8, 2021, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Great Apostolic Faith Church, 3571 Tod Ave NW, Warren, Ohio 44485.
A Going Home Service celebrating the wonderful life of LaTarsha will take place at 11:00 a.m. Friday in the church with District Elder Phillip William Shealey as celebrant.
Burial will follow in Pineview Memorial Park in Warren.
