Judith Ann (Gade) Ronga

Judith A. Ronga, 80, of Niles, passed away Friday, January 8, 2021 at 4:01 p.m. in the intensive care unit of Trumbull Regional Medical Center.

She was born Saturday, January 27, 1940 in Luna Pier, Michigan the daughter of the late John C. and Florence DeMott Gade and was a graduate of Newton Falls High School

A homemaker, Judith worked as a nurse’s aide and for Sears Department Store.

She was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in Niles. 

Judith was immensely proud of taking lessons on the violin.  She was also enormously proud of her French heritage and as a result was taking French lessons as well.

She will be deeply missed by her husband of 55 years Andrew Ronga whom she married on October 14, 1965 and together they shared the love of five children Joseph Fabian of Bristol, Michael A. Ronga of Columbus, Stephanie M (Steven) Smith of McDonald, Andrea S. Ronga Sollitto of Girard and Andrew P. Ronga of Niles; seven grandchildren Kayla Smith, Tyler (Shelby London) Smith, Megan (finance Jeff Marsollo) Smith, Courtney (Josh Foit) Sollitto, Kirsten Sollitto-Adkins, Antonio Sollitto, and Michael Ronga; and four great grandchildren Aubriella, Maximus, Logan and Rylie.  Judith is also survived by two brothers James (Annette) Gade of California and John “Jack” (Joanne) Gade of Warren.

Besides her parents, Judith was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law Bonnie Fabian and by two sisters Janet Szymanski and Susan Hudock.

Family will receive friends on Thursday, January 14, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home.

An Order of Christian Burial Service, with Fr. John Michael Lavelle officiating, will be offered at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in the Staton-Borowski Funeral Home.

Burial will follow in All Souls Cemetery in Cortland.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions take the form of donations in Judith’s name to either the church or the American Heart Association.                                                              

The family, and funeral home will be practicing social distancing and proper health protocols. Due to the continued and increasing spread of Covid-19, the 6-foot social distancing rule will be honored, and all guests, must wear a mask. For the safety of everyone, we politely ask that all visitors exit the funeral home after paying their respects to the family (unless staying for the service).  Please do not linger.
