Josephine (Ruscitti) Mancini

Josephine Mancini, 83, of Howland, entered peacefully into eternal life on Friday, April 30, 2021 in the Intensive Care Unit at Mercy Health St. Joseph Warren Hospital with her loving family by her side.

She was born Wednesday, August 11, 1937 in L’Aquila, Abruzzo, Raiano, Italy the daughter of the late Pietro and Domenica Arquilla Ruscitti and immigrated to the United States in 1956

Along with her husband, Josephine was the owner and operator of Carmen’s Pizza on Youngstown Road in Warren.

Josephine was the matriarch of her family and loved to cook and visit with her family and friends.  She also enjoyed gardening and spending time with her grandchildren who were the apple of her eye.

She was a longtime member of St. Elizabeth Ann Parish-St. James Church Site. 

Josephine was united in marriage on November 26, 1960 to Carmine Mancini and they were married for 55 years until his passing on February 5, 2014.  Together they shared the love of two children Dominic (Anna) Mancini of Raleigh, North Carolina and Gina (Antonio) DiSalvo of Howland; and four grandchildren Antonio, Daniela, and Marisa DiSalvo and Christian Mancini.

Besides her parents and husband Carmine, Josephine was preceded in death by a sister Elvira Gentile.

Family will receive friends on Saturday, May 8, 2021 from 8:00 a.m. until 9:00 a.m. in the Staton-Borowski Funeral Home.

A Funeral Mass, with Fr. Christopher Cicero officiating, will be offered at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, May 8, 2021 in St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish-St. James Site, preceded by closing prayers to be recited at 9:20 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home prior in leaving for the church.

Entombment will follow in Green Haven Memorial Gardens in Canfield.

The family requests that memorial contributions may be made in Josephine’s name to Alzheimer’s Research Foundation 620 Sea Island Road Suite 288, St. Simons Island, Georgia 31522.
