Joseph Montgomery

Joseph Edwin Montgomery of Niles, Ohio went home to be with the lord on May 11^th, 2022 due to natural causes. Joseph was born on October 30^th, 1940, in Aliceville, Alabama to Roy Montgomery and Genola Summerville. He is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years Janice (Wilson) Montgomery, and his children whom he loved very much. They include Sharon (Montgomery) Morrow of Niles, Ohio, Keith (Michelle) Montgomery of Champion, Ohio, Kimberly Montgomery of Medina, Ohio and Candice (Montgomery) Germany of Michigan. He enjoyed spending time with his 12 grandchildren as well as his 4 great grandchildren whom he adored. He is preceded in death by his parents as well as his sisters Mattie DeGraffenrie of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, Sallie Gardner of Bronx, New York, Roy Ann Layton of Youngstown, Ohio, Emily Star Montgomery of Mount Vernon, New York. Joseph was a proud alumni of Campbell Memorial High School graduating in the class of 1959. He was an avid fisherman as well as a diehard football fan of the Cleveland Browns and The University of Alabama, he also participated in raising and showing Germany Shepard dogs in the area for many years. A memorial service for Joseph Montgomery will be held at North Mar Church at (Address) on Friday, May 20^th, 2022 from 11am to 12pm for those who would like to join the family in remembering him. In leu of flowers please direct donations to youth sports leagues in either Campbell, Ohio or Warren, Ohio as Joseph participated heavily in both organizations as a minor league player, and then a youth baseball coach for many years.
