Joseph Jenkins

YOUNGSTOWN – Joseph Jenkins, age 54, passed away at his residence on Sunday, July 30, 2023. He was born on April 10, 1969, in Youngstown, Ohio, the son of Thomas and Brenda (Venable) Jenkins.

Joseph was a STNA and also a janitor for the Youngstown Schools.

He loved spending time with his kids and grandchildren. He coached football and basketball and was a fan of the Baltimore Ravens and Orioles, Indiana Pacers and Norte Dame.

Fond memories of Joseph live on with his wife, Robin Lightfoot: mother, Brenda Jean Venable: son, Joseph Lightfoot of Youngstown: daughters, Jo’Elle Lightfoot and Jo’Sie Lightfoot both of Youngstown: brothers, Jerome Jenkins of Youngstown, Anthony Jenkins of Columbus, Michael Rushton of Youngstown, Sean Rushton of Youngstown, and Lavar Jenkins of McDonald: sister, Nikki Rushton Walker of Youngstown and six grandchildren.

Preceding him in death is his father, Thomas Jenkins, and brother, Lewis Jenkins.

Calling hours are 10:00 to 11:00am Tuesday August 8th, 2023, at New Bethel Baptist Church,1507 Hillman St, Youngstown, Ohio 44507. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am, following calling hours at the church with Rev. Kenneth Simon officiating.
