HOWLAND – John William Fetsko, 91, passed away peacefully at St. Joseph Warren Hospital, May 25, 2023.
John was born on April 24, 1932, in Edenborn, PA, the son of the late John and Anna Harim Fetsko.
John graduated in May 1950 from Cumberland Township High School in Carmichaels, PA. He then graduated
from the General Motors Corp. Apprenticeship Program and was employed by General Motors Corp.,
Packard Electric Division in Warren, Ohio for over 47 years before retiring as a Tool & Die Maker in 1998.
John married the love of his life, the former Eleanor Suzanne Machingo on June 16, 1956, celebrating 66
years of marriage. He will be deeply missed.
He was a member of Saints Peter & Paul Byzantine Catholic Church since 1950 where he sang in the
choir and bowled in the church bowling league. John also loved softball, his Packard Electric Cable
team won fourth place at the 1957 World Slow-Pitch Softball Tournament. He was also an avid Steelers,
Pirates, Indians, and Cavs fan.
He is survived by his sister Catherine George of Pittsburgh, PA. He will always be remembered by his
three sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Jacqui of Madison, OH, David and Lori of Greenwood, IN,
Thomas and Rowena of Tucson, AZ; eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
John is preceded in death by his sisters Evelyn Koziel, Rose Anne Fetsko, and Grandson Justin Thomas Fetsko.
Calling hours will be from 10:00 am to 11:00 am on Thursday, June 1, 2023, at St. Peter & Paul Byzantine Catholic Church in Warren, Ohio. A panachida service will follow at 11:00 am at the church. Committal will take place after the service at St. Peter & Paul Cemetery.
