HOWLAND – Janis A. Bucklin, age 85, passed away Tuesday, October 6, 2020 at her home, with her family by her side.
She was born to the late Louis and Eva Gierman on December 25, 1934. She was raised in the Cleveland suburbs and graduated from Parma High School. She moved with her husband and family to Warren, Ohio in 1978.
Janis married her childhood sweetheart, Robert “Bob” Bucklin on May 23, 1953, and they were married sixty-seven years. She is survived by her husband and three daughters: Terri Bucklin of Alexandria, Va., Cheryl Lee of Warren, Ohio, and Lynn Pierce of Avon Lake, Ohio; and two granddaughters, Kendra Pierce of Seattle, Washington and Mikayla Pierce of Avon Lake, Ohio.
Janis was immensely proud of her family and leaves behind nothing but beautiful memories. She worked for many years and retired from St. Joseph Health Center. She has enjoyed traveling with friends, playing bridge, golfing, attending theatre, garden club, and could be found sailing on Lake Erie with her family.
Services are 12:00 noon Saturday, October 17, 2020 at Howland United Methodist Church, 730 Howland-Wilson Rd. N.E., Warren, Ohio 44484, with Rev. Matt Darrin officiating. Friends may call 11:00 am to 12:00 noon Saturday at the church. Masks are required for those who attend, and social distancing practices will be observed.
