James R. Bowden

WARREN – James R. Bowden, age 71, lifelong area resident, passed away after a lengthy illness Monday, June 29, 2020 at St. Joseph Health Center.  He was born July 26, 1948 in Warren, the son of James P. and Dorothy Bowden.

A 1966 graduate of Warren G. Harding High School, Jim retired from Thomas Steel Strip Corporation after thirty years of employment.  He also sold real estate and was a great golfer.  He enjoyed NASCAR, the Indians, Browns, and Buckeyes.

Precious memories of Jim live on with his loving wife of twenty-four years, Kathy (Ziegler) Bowden, whom he married May 26, 1996; three children: Stephanie Irrcher (Dominic) of North Carolina, James J. Bowden of Warren, and Kevin Bowden (Jenna) of Dayton; two stepchildren, Chris Dickinson (Rebecca) of Mineral Ridge and Shanna Stabi of Baltimore, Md.; twelve grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and one brother, Charles Bowden (Opal) of Newton Falls.

His parents, James and Dorothy Bowden, precede him in death.

There are no services or calling hours.  A Celebration of Life event will be held and announced at a later date. Per his request, cremation is taking place.
