Bristolville- Helen Darlene Emery, 75, passed away Monday, November 28, 2022, at her residence surrounded by family after courageously fighting breast cancer for 25 years. She was born July 7, 1947, in Mineral Ridge, Ohio, to the late Leonard and Eunice (Hedglin) Corbin.
Helen retired from GE Ohio Lamp in 2007. She was diagnosed with breast cancer in 1997 and put up a courageous fight for 25 years, although the cancer came back 8 times in her life it didn’t stop her from doing the things she loved. She helped at Reach to Recovery for the American Cancer Society where she provided support and encouragement for those going through their own battle with cancer. She belonged to the Red Hatters, loved traveling and bus trips to wineries, celebrating holidays with family and friends, taking her grandchildren shopping, and growing flowers.
She is survived by her husband, Daniel Emery; son Jonathan (Renee) Emery of La Luz, NM and their children Riya Helen and Justice; step-son Anthony (Cathy) Emery of Knoxville TN and their four children, Kyle, Zach, Rebekah and Wyatt; brother, Harland “Lee” Corbin; sisters, Valjean (Bill) Johnson, and Violet Stinedurf, and grandson Jason Alan Emery Jr.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Jason Alan Emery; brothers, Gerald Corbin, Bert Corbin and Thomas Corbin; and a sister, Jeanette Wancheck.
A funeral service will take place Friday, December 9, 2022, at 12:00 p.m., at Staton-Borowski Funeral Home, 962 North Rd. NE, Warren Ohio 44483. Friends may call one hour prior to service at the funeral home.
