Gary Lee Fenton passed away from complications of Alzheimer’s Disease on Saturday morning March 11, 2017 at his home surrounded by his family. Born on September 1, 1952 in Warren, Ohio to parents Virginia (Sanders Mann) of Ashtbula, Ohio and Eber Leroy Fenton (Deceased).

Gary was the oldest of siblings; Bernard (Judy) Fenton of Kinsman, Ohio, Keith Fenton of Girard, Ohio and Virginia (Verne) Wiswell of Las Vegas, Nevada.

A 1970 graduate of Levittsburg High School, Gary enlisted to serve his country as a U.S. Marine, serving abroad in several countries including Spain where he met his first wife, Saadia “Sue” El Bhoukadi. After his enlistment, they were married in 1973 in Levittsburg, Ohio and had two sons, Scott Alan Fenton and Christopher Lee Fenton.

Gary followed in his father’s footsteps and became a journeyman lineman, working out of the IBEW local union, often traveling out of state to work jobs, and finally landing a position at the City of Niles Light Department. In his spare time, he was active coaching his sons in baseball

Meeting his current wife of 27 years, Georgiann (Aulisio Poppelriter) Fenton in 1987, they married on August 28, 1990 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Gary and Georgiann lived in Ohio until moving out west to California, where Gary worked as a lineman for Alameda Light and Telecom in 1998. They loved the sun and culture, but moved back east in 2010 to be closer to family, especially children and grandchildren.

Gary loved riding motorcycles, also collecting a few, and could always be found tinkering with them or customizing them. Another hobby he had a knack for was gun collecting and gun smithing, where he enjoyed long hours of cleaning and polishing. Of late, Gary took up the game of golf, in which he cherished playing rounds with his sons and friends.

Gary is preceded in death by his father, Eber Leroy Fenton (2003) and his step-father, Frank Ellsworth Mann (2015). He leaves behind his mother, Virginia “Ginny” Mann; his three siblings and their spouses; several nieces and nephews; his loving wife, Georgiann Fenton; both sons, Scott Fenton and Christopher ( Tonya) Fenton of Warren, Ohio; two step-children, Richard Poppelriter of Warren, Ohio and Christine (Joe) Sobinovsky of Martinsburg , West Virginia and four grandchildren, Kyle Kristopher Fenton and Maria, Gina and Lisa Sobinovsky.
