Ethel V. Hayda

NILES – Ethel V. Hayda, age 93, of Niles and formerly of Warren, passed away peacefully Thursday, March 25, 2021 at her home.  She was born May 11, 1927 in Beaverdale, Pa., the daughter of Joseph and Helen (Churma) Kost.

Ethel attended St. Mary’s High School and was a longtime member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church.  A devoted homemaker, She enjoyed Bingo, casinos, slot machines, and watching “The Price Is Right.”

Precious memories of Ethel live on with her two children, Ellen Partin of Niles and Dennis E. Hayda, Sr. (Amy) of McDonald; five grandchildren: Rebecca Martin (Jim), Rachael Partin, Dennis E. Hayda, Jr., Shalyn Kay (Justin), and Brooke Collins (Ryan); and nine great-grandchildren: Zaynah Chips, Jazalynn Williams, Byron Partin, Giavonna Martin, Easton Collins, Carden Collins, Andri Collins, Rowen Kay, and Alanna Kay.

Preceding her in death are her parents, Joseph and Helen Kost; her beloved husband of thirty-three years, Eugene Hayda, who passed in 1983; one great-granddaughter, Lilly Ann Chambell; one sister, Leona “Betty” Muischk; two brothers, Bernard and Daniel Kost; and one son-in-law, Glen Partin.

Services are 11:00 am Thursday, April 1, 2021 at Victory Christian Center, 4257 Tod Avenue N.W., Warren, Ohio 44485, with Rev. Rob Bateman officiating.  Interment will follow at All Souls Cemetery.  Friends may call 10:00 to 11:00 am Thursday at the church.
