Edward Sweitzer Obituary

WARREN – Edward A. Sweitzer Sr., 80, passed away on January 24, 2023, at Continuing Healthcare of Niles. He was born on June 13, 1942, in Warren, OH, to the late Alonzo and Sarah (Bush) Sweitzer.

Edward was a 1961 graduate of Warren G. Harding High School. After graduation he enlisted in the US Army from 1961 to 1964. He then went to work for Packard Electric and retired in 1999.

He enjoyed attending his children’s activities, and camping at Cutty’s Sunset Camp Ground in Hartville, OH. He was an avid sports fan and would watch the Cleveland Indians, Cavaliers, Browns and Ohio State Buckeyes.

Edward is survived by his wife Pamela Lorent Sweitzer, whom he married May 22, 1965; children, Edward Sweitzer (Gail) Jr., Shane Sweitzer (Rochelle) and Stacie Sweitzer Donaldson; sisters, Elizabeth Barham and Mary McAleer (Adrian); seven grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and seven nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother Harrison G. Sweitzer.
