Edna Mae (Dawson) Sonoga

Edna Mae Sonoga, 90, of Bazetta, passed away Saturday, September 18, 2021, at 5:52 a.m. at Mercy Health St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital.

She was born February 8, 1931, in Baltimore, MD the daughter of the late Melvin William Sauter and Doris Catherine Dawson and came to the area in 1941.

Edna retired as a supervisor from Fairhaven Workshop. She enjoyed spending time with all her family; was an avid reader of the Lord’s word and enjoyed dancing.

Edna was a former member of First Assembly of God on Parkman Road in Warren.

She is survived by her children Catherine (David) Nutt of Vienna, Michael (Teri) Sonoga of Champion, Steven (Tina) Sonoga of Moore, OK, Charles Sonoga, and Samuel Sonoga of Bazetta; by three grandchildren Tony Nutt, Chasity (Gavin) Roach, and Casey Sonoga and by six great grandchildren.

Besides her parents, Edna was preceded in death by a son Richard Sonoga; a grandson Benjamin Sonoga, and by her siblings Margaret Williams, Frances Aron, and James Lewis.

A Graveside Service will take place on Tuesday, September 21, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. at All Souls Cemetery in Cortland.
