Edna Vera Gehrlein

Warren – Edna Vera Gehrlein (Lydic), 94, passed away suddenly on January 14, 2023, at St. Joseph Health Center in Warren, OH. She was born on July 20, 1928, in Taylorsville, PA to the late Elmer and Vernie Rummell Lydic.

Edna was a resident of Warren most of her life. She worked independently cleaning houses for over 20 years. She delivered food for Meals on Wheels up into her nineties. She loved the Lord and lived her life accordingly. She was a member of the First Church of God where she loved to pinch perogies. She also loved life and her family, especially the little ones.

Edna was a social butterfly, she loved people; everyone loved her attire; she was always dressed to perfection. She enjoyed cooking, baking cakes (and giving them to her neighbors), doing crafts, crossword puzzles, playing bingo, eating tasty food and DQ Blizzards. She was a very good square dancer and enjoyed teaching others. She always said music was good for the soul.

Edna is survived by her daughter, Cecilia Moneypenny; grandchildren, Vonda Palcisco, Renae (Mark) Moneypenny, Darlene Moneypenny, Lenny (Mandy) Moneypenny and Rick (Shelley) Moneypenny; great grandchildren, Jason (Stephanie) Mathia, Amanda (Steven) Boosinger, Paris Palcisco, Gabrielle, Alexis, Blake, McKayla, Madison and Bryce Moneypenny; great great grandchildren, Ethan, Ryker and Teagan Mathia, Maverick and Reese Boosinger.

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Paul Gehrlein, the love of her life; son, James M. Palcisco; daughter in law, Carrie Palcisco; siblings, Olive Rice, Edith Proskey, Alice Olsen and Lou Lydic and great great granddaughter, Aaliyah Moneypenny.

A funeral service will be held at 12 noon, Friday, January 20, 2023, at Staton-Borowski Funeral Home.in Warren. Family and friends may call one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Crown Hill Burial Park following the service.
