Edith M. Smith

Edith M. Smith, 90, of Warren, entered into eternal rest Sunday, July 29, 2018 at White Oak Manor in Warren.  She was born August 8, 1928 in Yazoo City, Mississippi, the daughter of John and Ruth (Jones) Evans, and had lived in Ohio most of her life.

Edith worked in food service for Copperweld Steel and attended Second Baptist Church.  A member of the Eastern Star, she enjoyed family, fishing, baking, and shopping.

Fond memories of Edith live on with her two children, Althea (Harold R., Jr.) Johnson of Cleveland Heights and Elmo Smith, Jr. of Warren; two grandchildren, Alishea (Dwayne) and Atasha (Brandon); and six great-grandchildren: Amani, Alijah, Abriana, Alyssa, Avary, and Brandon, Jr.

Preceding her in death are her parents and her beloved husband, Elmo Smith, Sr., whom she married April 22, 1950 and who died June 21, 2015.

Services are 11:00 am Monday, August 6, 2018 at Staton-Borowski Funeral Home.  Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery.  Friends may call 10:00 to 11:00 am Monday at the funeral  home.
