Dorothy Scheitrumpf, 73, of Warren, entered peacefully into eternal life with her family by her side on Monday, January 17, 2022 at 6:00 p.m. in the Intensive Care Unit at Trumbull Regional Medical Center following complications from pulmonary fibrosis.
She was born May 28, 1949 in Warren, the daughter of the late Steve P. and Mary Potocnak Tombor Sr. and was a lifelong area resident.
Dot was a 1967 graduate of Warren G. Harding High School.
A homemaker, Dot was of the catholic faith and made her sacraments and attended SS. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church, where her grandparents and parents were charter members. After marrying, Dot attended SS. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church and Delightful Evangelical Church in Warren.
She had a passion for reading paper-back books and reading over 100 books on her Kindle. Dot enjoyed frequenting the library and loved to cook and bake. Over the years, Dot enjoyed to travel and adventure with her husband on their Honda Goldwing, which took them all over the United States. She and her husband could also be seen on the dancing floor swinging to a good polka. But most of all she loved caring for her family.
Dot is survived by her husband of 52 years Robert G. Scheitrumpf, whom she married on February 15, 1969; two children Robert T. “Rob” Scheitrumpf and Beth A. (Joshua) Stanley all of Warren; and by a brother Steve P. Tombor Jr. of Champion and by many nieces and nephews and extended family and friends.
Besides her parents, Dot was preceded in death by a brother William Tombar; and sisters Helen Cipolla, Ruth Kuszmaul, and Mary Ann Zandarski.
Family will receive friends on Monday, January 24, 2022, from 5:00 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. in the Staton-Borowski Funeral Home.
An Order of Christian Burial Service will be offered at 6:30 p.m. Monday in the funeral home with Deacon Edward Kleese of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton as celebrant.
Burial will take place in All Souls Cemetery in Cortland.
