Daniel A. Machuzak

Daniel A. “Dan” Machuzak, 91, of Warren, entered peacefully into eternal life on Saturday, January 1, 2022, at 7:06 a.m. at Hospice House in Poland with his son at his side.

He was born February 27, 1930, in Warren the son of the late John and Helen Banovich Machuzak and was a lifelong area resident.

A 1949 graduate of Warren G. Harding High School, Dan furthered his education 1966 by graduating from Youngstown State University with a bachelor’s degree in business administration.

Dan retired from Thomas Steel as Superintendent of Industrial Relations.

He was a longtime and active member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish-SS. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church in Warren where he served the faithful as lector and eucharistic minister; belonged to the Men’s Club, 300 Club of the church.  Dan was also a longtime member of SS. Cyril & Methodius 50 + Club. 

He enjoyed going fishing in Canada.

Dan married his sweetheart the former Bernadette Ann “Bernie” Verbosky on August 21, 1954 and they were married for 62 years until her passing on January 18, 2017.  Together they shared the love of two sons Daniel S. (Diane Holland) of Liberty Township, and Michael J. (Janice) of Homer, Alaska; four grandchildren Ryan (Amanda) Machuzak, Chris (Katie) Machuzak, Holly Machuzak, and Kelly Machuzak; and by four great grandchildren Adalyn, Amelia, Henry, and Quinn.  Dan is also survived by a sister Helen (Bill) Frederick of Leavittsburg.

Besides his parents and wife, Bernie, Dan was preceded in death by a sister Patricia Dean.

A Funeral Mass to be offered at 10:00 a.m. in St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish-SS. Cyril & Methodius Church Site with Fr. Melvin E. Rusnak as celebrant. (All are Please asked to MEET DIRECTLY AT CHURCH)

Burial will follow with full military honors in All Souls Cemetery in Cortland.
