Clair Grimes, 81, of Leavittsburg, passed away Saturday, May 8, 2021 at 11:38 a.m. in the comfort of his own home under the comforting care of hospice.
He was born on Friday, October 6, 1939 in Curwensville, Pennsylvania the son of the late Clair A. and Esther R. Bloom Grimes and was a lifelong area resident.
Clair worked for over 40 years for Delphi Packard Electric as an electrician. He had an interest in science and architecture. One of Clair’s hobbies was to draw house plans from scratch. He also was a wiz on the computer.
Clair married Cathie A. Yakubek on September 14, 1978 and they were married for 39 years until her passing on January 31, 2018.
He is survived by six children Barbara (Butch) Snyder of Lordstown, Ray Grimes of Texas, Arlene Romeo of Iowa, Dara L. Kovalik with whom he made his home in Leavittsburg, Tara (Marc) Steven of California and Heather Sykes of Warren; by fifteen grandchildren and by several great grandchildren.
Besides his parents and wife, Clair was preceded in death by his brother Gordon Grimes.
There will be a wake on Sunday, May 23, 2021 at the residence in Leavittsburg.
The family suggests that memorial contributions take the form of donations in Clair’s name to MVI Hospice, 4891 Belmont Ave, Youngstown, Ohio 44505.
