Christopher P. Miller, Sr., 58, of Howland Township, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, September 17, 2021, at 3:56 p.m.

He was born September 16, 1963, in Warren the son of the late Theodore R. and Annie Hudak Miller and was a lifelong area resident.

A 1981 graduate of Howland High School, Chris attended Gordon James Career, where he studied heavy equipment mechanics and welding. 

He was employed for most of his working career with Do-Cut Sales & Service in Warren as the manager of the parts department.  After his career there, Chris worked for WCI Steel where he retired as a locomotive operator for 15 years. 

Chris was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing on the Great Lakes; any trout stream he could find, and at his vacation home in Canada with his son, brothers, and friends.  He enjoyed attending many of the area social events and local festivals. 

Chris or “Junior” as he was known will be sadly missed by all especially by his son Christopher P. Miller, Jr. and his wife, Brittany (Duncan) Miller as well as his grandchildren Sophia, Leah, and Kylee Miller all of Howland; stepson William Tobias from his first wife Linda (Tobias) Miller who preceded him in death.  Chris then married the love of his life Julia (Black) Miller on June 6, 2002, but unfortunately, she preceded him in death ten years later December 31, 2012.  Chris will also be missed by his stepchildren Stephanie Dunn and her husband Daniel Dunn and grandchildren Parker, Hudson, and Sawyer Dunn of Zanesville, Indiana; Vanessa Peters and grandchildren Aubree, Kathrynn, and Jocelynn Peters all of Warren; his mother-in-law whom he loved dearly, Sylvia Black of Hartford; and brother-in-law David (Marsha) Black of Kent, Washington.  Chris is also survived by bis twin brother Louis Miller and wife Susan and Steven Miller all of Howland as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Besides his parents, Chris was preceded in death by two brothers Michael J. and Richard J. Miller.

A caring cremation has taken place and there will be no service at this time.  The family will hold a celebration of Chris’s life at a later date.
