Candy D. Shipp

WARREN – Candy D. Shipp age 37, passed away Monday, July 31, 2023 at St. Jospeh Health Center after a valiant struggle with long-term illness.  She was born August 26, 1985, the daughter of Todd Appleberry and Denise Haynes.

A lifelong area resident, Candy was a 2004 graduate of Warren G. Harding High School and was awarded as a Child Development Associate (CDA) by Dr. Calvin Moore, Jr.  She was a loving person, a soul mate, beloved wife, and friend to many. She had a strong compassion for children, loved cooking, and was always there to help, always putting others first. She worked in children’s day care for many years and was always game to try new things and to travel.

On November 15, 2021, she completed a course of radiation therapy treatment and beat cancer.

She was of the Baptist faith.

Loving memories of Candy continue with her mother, Denise Haynes of Warren; her father, Todd Appleberry of Warren; her beloved husband, Rashaan Shipp of Warren; one daughter, Ariel Appleberry of Warren; two sons, Joshua Corbin, Jr. and Joshon Corbin, both of Warren; three stepchildren: Alexis Jones, Mercedes Shipp, and Camarie Shipp; two grandchildren, Quentin Brantley and Loyalty Brantley; one goddaughter, Mireyna Parker; four brothers: John Tyson, Jr., Jonathan Tyson, LeMichael Tyson, and Jonte Haynes; six sisters: Marquite Haynes, Ashley Appleberry, Tera Appleberry, Chesie Appleberry, Jessica Appleberry, and Ana Appleberry; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Calling hours are 4:00 to 5:00 pm Monday, August 7, 2023 at Staton-Borowski Funeral Home.  Services are 5:00 pm Monday at the funeral home.
