Barbara Thornton Obituary

Burghill, OH – Barbara J. Thornton-65- Passed away on Friday, January 8, 2021 at Sharon Regional Hospital. She was born on May 16, 1955 a daughter to Paul Plant Sr. & Ernestine Post Plant. She was one of eleven children and raised in Gustavus, OH. She attended Hubbard Nazarene Church. She loved spending time with her family and her late husband of 38 years. She also loved playing card games and drinking her coffee at thekitchen table.

She is sadly missed by her six surviving siblings; Joanne Armstrong, Paul Plant, Bill Plant (Darlene), Cathy McCloskey (Jack), Richard Plant and Eric Plant Sr.; four daughters; Michelle Junk (Shawn), Christyn Thornton-Muresan Jeff),  Marcelle Thornton, and Melora Lacelle (Rae); five sons; Roger Mellon Jr. (Marlene), Frank Mellon, Justin Thornton, Charles Thornton (Carol), and Troy Thornton, twenty four grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul Sr. & Ernestine Plant, her husband; George Thornton, three sisters, Cherie Plant, Debra Schellenger, and Sharon Harvey and one brother; Gary Plant Sr.

Services are private. Per her request, caring cremation has taken place.
