Barbara A. Furr

CHAMPION – Barbara A. Furr, age 78, passed away peacefully Monday, July 31, 2023 at Concord Care Center of Hartford.  She was born October 31, 1944 in Hondo, Texas, the daughter of Gerald and Dorothy (Parsh) Peterson, moving to Trumbull County when she was five.

Barbara attended Southington schools and worked as a nurse’s aide for twenty-two years at Community Skilled Nursing Center.  She also worked at Horizon Village.  She enjoyed bowling, the Cleveland Indians, garage sales, flea markets, and her many friends, both human and canine.

Precious memories of Barbara live on with her brother, Tom Peterson (Arleta) of Niles; and her nieces, nephews and their families.

Preceding her in death are her parents; her beloved husband, Benjamin A. Furr, whom she married February 2, 1981 and who passed October 16, 2001; and her sister, Geraldine Lesline, who passed June 4, 2009.

Calling hours are 10:00 am Thursday, August 3, 2023 at Staton-Borowski Funeral Home.  Services are at 11:00 am Thursday at the funeral home, with Rev. James Dittmar officiating.  Interment will follow at Crown Hill Burial Park.
