WARREN – Anthony E. “Tony” Angelo, 94, entered into eternal rest Tuesday, August 15, 2023 at Hospice House in Poland. Born June 18, 1929, in Warren, he was the son of Joseph and Assunta (Ferrante) Angelo.
Tony was a proud graduate of Warren G. Harding High School. He volunteered at age 17 and served in theUnited States Army from 1946-1948. Upon his return, he went on to work at Copperweld Steel and retiredfrom there after 40 years.
Tony’s six brothers were the foundation of “the best family in the world.” They could always be found together on Sunday morning’s giving “updates”. He especially enjoyed spending time with them and all his family making memories at Conneaut on Lake Erie. Tony’s smile will radiate permanently in our memories of him around the kitchen table. He was always willing to share his wine, the shirt off his back, or how much it cost to make the pasta fagioli he served. Tony was truly unforgettable and the laughter he made will be hard to replace.
He took pleasure in playing bocce, morra, golf, and softball. He was known for making his pizzelles, peppers, and pasta fagioli.
He is sadly missed by his five children: Tony Angelo (Sherry) of New Smyrna Beach, Fla., George “Yogi” Angelo (Cynthia) of Warren, Rose Marie Mariano (Michael) of Lebanon, Ohio, Teresa Giovannone of Lordstown, and Gloria Suciu (Tim) of Pensacola, Fla.; ten grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; two brothers, James Angelo of Cuyahoga Falls and Nick Angelo (Kathleen) of Warren.
Preceding him in death are his parents; his beloved wife of forty-one years, Ruth Ann (Karavas) Angelo, whom he married September 1, 1951; brothers: Ralph, Fio, Carmen, and Carl Angelo and son in law Mike Giovannone.
A celebration of life for family will be held to honor Tony’s wishes. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Tony’s name to Hospice of the Valley.
