Anna “Ruth” Lambert age 83, of Newton Falls entered peacefully into rest on Monday, March 6, 2023, at St. Joseph Hospital Warren, following a brief illness. Ruth was born the daughter of Orville and Lillie (McFadden) Fortney on November 26, 1939, in Marlinton, West Virginia. She resided in the Newton Falls area since 2013 and was formerly of Windham, Ohio.
Ruth was a graduate of Windham High School and a member of the First Assembly of Pentecost Church in Braceville, Ohio. She retired from the Portage County Job & Family Services where she worked as a case worker for many years.
On August 1, 1975, Ruth was united into marriage with Harold L. Lambert and had shared 37 loving years together until his passing on August 6, 2012.
Her memories will be remembered and cherished by those she leaves behind, two sons, Jerry P. (Patricia) Fincham of Garrettsville, Ohio, Todd B. (Wendy) Fincham of Stow, Ohio; four daughters, Dena L. (Frank) Martin of Windham, Ohio, Luanne K. (James) Scott of Orwell, Ohio, Andrea S. (Jerry) Apthorpe of Windham, Ohio, Angela M. (Scott) Bartlett of Braceville, Ohio; two brothers, Fred Fortney of Garrettsville, Ohio, Bob Fortney of Southington, Ohio; two sisters, Betty Booth of Mountain Top, Pennsylvania, Linda Fugate of Hiram, Ohio; five step-children, twelve grandchildren, and fourteen great-grandchildren.
Ruth is preceded in death by her parents and husband, Harold L. Lambert.
A Memorial Service will be Tuesday, March 14, at 11:00 am at the First Assembly of Pentecost Church in Braceville, Ohio. Friends can call one hour prior to service at the church. Officiating will be the Rev. William McCartney. The inurnment will be in Windham Cemetery.
