Andrew R. Tomko, 79, of Cortland, entered peacefully into eternal life on Tuesday, January 18, 2022, at 1:08 a.m. at Hospice of Cincinnati East with his loving family by his side.
He was born December 31, 1942, in Warren, the son of the late Andrew S. and Vera Franko Tomko and was a lifelong area resident.
Andy was a graduate of Warren G. Harding High School and retired in 2001 from Thomas Steel Strip where he worked as a fabricator for over 35 years.
He had a passion for building and racing remote control boats and was a member of the Performance Model Boat Club of Akron, where he raced for more than 20 years.
Andy was a member of St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church in Cortland.
Andy was married on April 18, 1964, to the former Marilyn King and together they shared the love of four children Christopher “Chris” Tomko of Washington DC, Craig (Michelle) Tomko of Bristolville, John (Stacy) Tomko of Solon, and James “Jim” (Lucia) Tomko of Hillsboro, OH; and by six grandchildren Jacob (Shelby), Miranda, Amanda, Emily, Madison, and Andrew Tomko.
Besides his parents, Andy was preceded in death by a sister Dolores “Darla” Casey.
There will be no calling hours.
A Private Funeral Service for family will take place on Tuesday, January 25, 2022, at the Staton-Borowski Funeral Home with Fr. Carl Kish as celebrant. Burial will follow in All Souls Cemetery in Cortland.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions take the form of donations in Andy’s name to a charity of the donor’s choice.
