Andrew James Basilon, Sr., 36, of Niles, passed away unexpectedly at 11:14 PM Wednesday, October 28, 2020 in the emergency room of Trumbull Regional Medical Center after becoming stricken at home.
He was born Thursday, July 26, 1984 in Warren the son of William Anthony and Kathleen Sue Casey Basilon Sr. and was a lifelong area resident.
A 2003 graduate of Howland High School, Andrew attended ETI and Kent State University Trumbull Campus and was tow motor driver and selector with Dinesol Plastics in Niles for the last four years.
He grew up attending St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish-St. James Catholic Church in Warren. Andrew loved football and was an avid 49er’s fan and Michigan State fan. He was a hard worker and loved spending time with his two children.
Andrew will be sadly missed by his mother, Kathleen with whom he made his home in Niles; two children Andrew J. Basilon Jr. of Niles and Madilyn Basilon of Austintown; three brothers Brian (Maria) Basilon of Struthers, Michael Basilon of Niles and Mark A. Basilon of Howland Township; nieces and nephews Brian Basilon II USMC, Brandan Basilon, Anthony Basilon, Mikayla, Tessa, Grayson and Colton Basilon.
He was preceded in death by his father William Anthony Basilon Sr. who passed away March 21, 2019 and an infant brother William Anthony Basilon Jr.
Calling hours will take place on Thursday, November 5, 2020 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. in the Staton-Borowski Funeral Home.
An Order of Christian Burial Service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Friday in the funeral home with Fr. Christopher Cicero officiating.
Burial will take place at a later date in Niles City Cemetery.
The family, and funeral home will be practicing social distancing and proper health protocols. Due to the continued and increasing spread of Covid-19, the 6-foot social distancing rule will be honored, and all guests, must wear a mask. For the safety of everyone, we politely ask that all visitors exit the funeral home after paying their respects to the family. Please do not linger.
