Amanda Markowitz Obituary

Amanda LeeAnn Markowitz, 35, passed away Friday, August 27, 2021, at Mercy Health St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital.

Amanda was born July 10, 1986, in Warren the daughter of Robert S. Markowitz Jr. and Julie Brown and was a lifelong area resident.

A 2004 graduate of Liberty High School, Amanda graduated from Youngstown State University with a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice.  Amanda was currently working for the Lawrence County Corrections in New Castle, PA for the last eleven years as a corrections officer.  She was an officer with the Kinsman Police Department, and she was a member of the TAG Tactical Unit with her father.

She enjoyed spending time with family and friends.  All who had the pleasure of knowing her will always remember her magnificent smile, sparkling eyes, and incredibly kind and generous big heart.  Amanda was extremely proud of her three brothers and had a significant influence on their lives and on everyone else she touched.

Amanda’s great passion for life was never more apparent than when she was riding one of her motorcycles or finding the next new pair of Jordan shoes.

Her exceptional smile will never be forgotten, but her presence will be deeply missed by her parents, coworkers, and friends.  Memories of Amanda will be carried on by her father, Robert S. Markowitz, Jr. of Girard; her mother Julie Brown also of Girard; siblings Anthony V. Gagliardi of Girard; Robert “Robby” S. Markowitz, III of Naples, Fl; Brittany (Dave) Coleman of Norton; and Alexander D. Markowitz of Howland; and by two nephews Cruz and Cannon Coleman.  She is also survived by her paternal grandfather Robert S. Markowitz Sr. of Howland; Her stepfather Anthony J.
