Virginia L. Wiland, 88, of Warren, passed away peacefully Sunday, September 30, 2018 at St. Joseph Health Center. She was born August 30, 1930 in Niles, the daughter of Floyd L. and Blanche E. (James ) Sankey, and had lived in the area all her life.
A 1950 graduate of Warren G. Harding High School, Virginia retired from Packard Electric in 1988 after 28 years of employment. Fully devoted to her family and raising children, she attended Grace United Methodist Church, and enjoyed gardening and taking care of her home.
Fond memories of Virginia live on with her husband. Kenneth Wiland, whom she married February 7, 1952; two sons: Kenneth L. (Margaret) of Dayton and Roger H. Wiland of Warren; a daughter, Patricia A. (Mark) Clawges of Warren; five grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and a brother, Raymond (Mary) Sankey of New Castle, Pa.
Preceding her in death are her parents; a son, Glenn A. Wiland; a sister, Jacqueline Polomsky; and a brother, Floyd Sankey.
Cremation is taking place. There are no services or calling hours. Interment will take place at a later date at Crown Hill Burial Park.
