Welcome to the memorial page for

Victoria S. Vlad

May 2, 1927 ~ December 24, 2017 (age 90) 90 Years Old

Victoria S. Vlad, 90, of Warren, was ushered into the full presence of the Lord Sunday, December 24, 2017 at her residence.  She was born May 2, 1927 in Warren, the daughter of Daniel and Mary (Musunoi) Gabor, and had lived in the area all her life.

A 1945 graduate of Warren G. Harding High School, where she was the editor of journalism, Victoria worked for Warren City Manufacturing in the accounting department many years ago.  Primarily a homemaker, she was a member of the women’s club known as Jacovalls since 1993, and also did volunteer work with the American Diabetes Association and Trumbull Memorial Hospital. Always generous with her time, she loved to decorate and had travelled extensively abroad.  She and George enjoyed 65 wonderful years of marriage and were treated to a surprise party for their 60th anniversary.  Baptized in the Orthodox faith, she was a Christian.

Fond memories of Victoria live with her two children, Randall G. Vlad of Cortland and Vicki Vlad Marino of Warren; five grandchildren: Brienne (Joseph) Lawrence, Chase (Janna) Vlad, Brittany (Anthony) Kantakas, Alexandra Ryan (Brittany Massacci), and Jeffrey Vlad-Davies; two great-grandchildren; and a sister, Marlene Martinez of Warren.

Preceding her in death are her parents; her husband; George Vlad, Jr., whom she married August 24, 1947 and who died May 23, 2012; and a sister, Mary Ann Gabor.

The family would like to offer heartfelt thanks to Ohio Living Home Health and Hospice of Canfield and to each staff member who administered quality care in Mom’s time of need.  A special thanks also goes out to Jan Vlad for all her loving and compassionate care.

Services are 1:00 pm Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at Staton-Borowski Funeral Home, with Rev. James Baer officiating.  Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Warren.  Friends may call 12:00 to 1:00 pm Wednesday at the funeral home.  Material contributions may be made either to the Alzheimer’s Association (www.alz.org) or to Holy Resurrection Romanian Orthodox Church in Warren.
