Troy W. Booze, 58, of Warren, passed away peacefully at 7:36 p.m. Monday, January 14, 2018 in University Hospital of Cleveland following a massive stroke.
Troy was born on August 25, 1960 in Waynesburg, Pennsylvania the son of the late Gerald and Rella McCann Booze and came to Warren in 1967.
He attended LaBrae High School and then worked for Warren Consolidated LTV Steel for 27 years until its closing and then proceeded to work for Quality Switch in Newton Falls where he was currently employed for the last 5 years.
Troy was active with the Cortland Lions Club; Boy Scouts of America where he was past Scout Master; Project Be Somebody where he was Vice President. He was always doing charity work of any kind and was an avid hunter, fisherman, gardener and enjoyed the outdoors. Troy loved to cook and bake along with collecting antique cookware. He enjoyed playing and coaching softball for many years including coaching his children’s leagues.
Troy was married to the former Theodora A. Slogik on September 9, 1990 and they were married for 22 years until her passing on August 8, 2012.
He is survived by two children Tyler W. and Virginia Booze both of Warren; brothers Randy (Kathleen), Bruce C. (Lisa) and Perry Booze all of Leavittsburg; a sister Renee (Edward) Buffone of Leavittsburg; and nieces and nephews Brian Booze, Christine Sanderson, Brent Booze, Perry Booze II, Brandy Ragnes, Ralph Booze, Dominic Buffone, Danielle Knapp, Lindsay Booze, Gerry Booze and Taylor Booze.
Family will receive friends on Friday, January 18, 2019 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. in the Staton-Borowski Funeral Home, 962 North Road NE, Warren, Ohio 44483.
A Graveside Service will take place on Saturday, January 19, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at Crown Hill Burial Park in Vienna.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made in Troy’s name to Lions Club of Cortland 197 W. Main St., Cortland, Ohio 44410.
