Thelma Rodgers

Thelma Rodgers, 93, of Warren, passed away Monday, September 2, 2019 at Gillette Nursing Home.  She was born January 18, 1926 in Warren, the daughter of George and Flora (Sharpe) Frierson, and had lived in the area all her life.

A graduate of Warren G. Harding High School, Thelma had worked as a nurse’s aide at Trumbull Memorial Hospital and Washington Square Nursing Home.

She is sadly missed by a cousin, Annabelle Brogdon of Warren; twin stepdaughters, Glinda Rodgers and Linda Rodgers Bruner, both of Warren; a sister-in-law, MaeEtta Peterson of Warren; a brother-in-law, Leonard Rodgers of Warren; and many cousins, nieces, nephews and their families.

Preceding her in death are her parents; her husband, Sammie G. Rodgers, Jr., who passed away in 1972; her son, Richard A. Frierson; a stepdaughter, Audrey Rodgers; and a sister, Mary Frierson.

Services are 11:00 am Thursday, September 12, 2019 at Grace AME Church, 1137 Main Ave. S.W., Warren, with Rev. John McCants, Jr. officiating.  Interment will follow at Pineview Memorial Park.  Friends may call 10:00 to 11:00 AM Thursday at the church.
